Meet the Teacher

My personalized meet the teacher letter to help students and families get to know me and feel comfortable before the first day of school. This letter shares a little about my background, interests, and excitement for the year ahead, helping to build early connections and create a welcoming classroom community.

I provide families with a questionnaire to learn more about each child before the school year begins. This form helps me understand students’ strengths, interests, and learning preferences, as well as each family’s preferred method of communication. It’s an important first step in building positive relationships and creating a supportive, individualized classroom environment.
Daily Communication

I use daily comment sheets in students’ take home folders to keep families informed about classroom activities, reminders, and upcoming events. This consistent communication tool helps build strong partnerships with families and provides an easy way for parents to share notes or questions, promoting collaboration and support for each child’s learning.

On Going Communication

I send a weekly newsletter to keep families informed about classroom learning, upcoming events, and important reminders. It helps strengthen home to school communication and keeps families engaged in their child’s education.

I maintain a parent contact log to document communication with families throughout the school year. This record helps ensure consistent follow up, supports positive relationships, and keeps a clear record of collaboration between home and school.

For students needing additional behavior support, I use a daily behavior chart that goes home each day. This tool helps track progress toward individual goals and keeps families informed and involved in supporting positive behavior.
Positive Communication

I send positive notes home to celebrate student successes and recognize kind choices or hard work. These notes help build student confidence, strengthen relationships with families, and reinforce a positive classroom culture.
